How to Keep Pollen Out of Your House Tips / Checklist

How to Keep Pollen Out of Your House Tips / Checklist

The surfaces of furniture, tables and desks, drawers and countertops turn green?

March! Yes, it’s spring and time of pollen in GA. We protect our selves from allergies, but what about our homes? The pollen from outside gets  inside of our homes not only though the slits, but in many ways.

HOW TO REDUCE POLLEN INSIDE OF THE HOUSE?

  • In spite of the beautiful weather and birds singing, keep the windows and doors closed.
  • Keep the A/C setting on recycle mode.
  • The filter of your HVAC should be changed regularly. It means monthly.
  • After being outside
          • wipe you feet on the mat
          • change your clothes when you get inside the house
          • keep clothes you wear outside separately in closed area
  • You know about static electricity. So, your hair attracts and collects pollen a lot. Wash your hair before you go to bed.
  • After walking your pets outside wipe down their paws and fur to reduce the amount of pollen that can get inside of your house. Brush their fur. And vacuum the area  (if you do it inside).
  • Cover your patio and outside furniture. Take off the pillows from outside furniture till the green dust season is gone.
  • Keep close sun-umbrella closed during the high pollen season.
  • In that season try to keep your car in the garage.
